Emojis misunderstood

thumbs up, smiley face, emoji

One thing I realised due to this fast internet is that although there are lots of resources available around us, some people choose to be assholes. The basic thing I expect from a text is a right emoji. Some people are ignorant of the actual sense behind an emoji.Ā  I was standing in my university corridor and was replying to the texts on my whatsapp. I got a text from a guy IĀ  recently got acquainted with in my student activities team. He was really nice in person. I shared my number with him. What do you expect from a guy’s first text? Hi? Hello? But to my great surprise, this fellow started with a Hi and a kiss emoji. I don’t know if he is really aware of the sense behind that emoji but I genuinely didn’t feel like texting him back. I replied ‘Hi! I think you have sent a wrong emoji’ and you can’t imagine what he replied to this. He replied “Oh sorry” along with a Hug emoji. I now don’t try to correct him because I feel I would make it worse if I tried to correct him. He sometimes sends me red heart emojis, love emojis and what not. He still didn’t try to find the meaning behind emojis. He is not bad, he is just ignorant. Anyways there are millions of people out there who are like this. Guys please find out the sense behind emoji and text na! Because you don’t hug/kiss someone in real life to say ‘No problem’, ‘Sorry’ and all. It’s the same for people like me who know the context behind emoji. We literally imagine it happening and it is really dangerous.
