The Colours Of A Rose

We all know about the beautiful flower rose. It is found in many beautiful colours, each with a unique meaning and symbolism behind it.

  1. Red Rose: It is known universally as the symbol of love.
  2. White Rose: Though usually associated with purity and innocence, it actually represents “a heart unacquainted with love”.
  3. Yellow Rose: Originally considered rude due to the implication of jealousy behind them, yellow roses are contrastingly associated with friendship and cheer in modern times for their bright shades.
  4. Pink Rose: Stand for grace and elegance.
  5. Blue Rose: Since blue roses are not natural, the roses of this colour symbolise mystery and intrigue.
  6. Peach Rose: A perfect substitute for a thank-you note as these show modesty, sincerity and gratitude.
  7. Orange Rose: A vibrant shade of rose depicting enthusiasm and passion.
  8. Cream/Ivory Rose: Taking on a different meaning from its close cousin, the White Rose, the Cream or Ivory Rose stands for charm and thoughtfulness.
  9. Black Rose: Black is universally associated with hatred and darkness, however, black roses depict rebirth and new beginnings.
  10. Mint Rose: Bright and cheerful, a bouquet of these indicates cheerfulness and new beginnings.
