During the COVID pandemic, people have gone through lot of Physical, Emotional and Mental Stress. While people are under stress, they tend to eat more. Also Pandemic has made us all lazy sitting at home and not much of physical exercise. I myself gained at least 7-8 Kgs in last 1 and ½ year. I am sure you all would have gone through the same stress.
I bought a bike 2 months back and since then have been riding it on an average of 12 – 15 Kms per day. I use it not only for my morning ride, but also for going near by places. I have cut down on using fuel based vehicles unless I have to travel long distance. I have seen a drastic change in myself. Not only it is helping me reduce weight, but I am finding myself more active and happy in general. Like Weight gain helps reduce our confidence, similarly fitness helps in being more energetic and that’s boosts your confidence level. Bicycle has become my new best friend, I find it boring to walk alone, but biking alone is also fun sometimes, you can explore new places without having to worry about distances being traveled, money to be spent on travel, etc. Just carry a backpack with couple of bottles of water, a biscuit pack or bananas, a T Shirt to change if it gets sweaty and you can roam freely around the city happily.
It’s a general belief that using a fuel based bike will help speed up the task. This may be true for long distance travel, but for shorter distances a vehicle is more of a trouble and time consuming especially if you are staying in cities.

Along with the above benefits, there are some indirect benefits you get, an energetic and fit body, boost of confidence, improve your sex life and make you love long & happy.
I will suggest each one of us should have a bicycle and we should start using it on a regular basis. I would also suggest corporates to motivate their employees to come to office on bikes and compensate them accordingly.
