Happy Women’s Day

Sarojini Naidu

Feb 13th is celebrated as the National Women’s day in India, in honor of the birth anniversary of Sarojini Naidu.

Sarojini Naidu was born on 13th Feb 1879 in Hyderabad. She played a vital role in fighting against the British Raj and providing freedom to India. She was appointed as the President of the Indian National Congress in 1925 and later became the Governor of the United Provinces in 1947. She was also the first woman to hold the office of Governor of India. On one hand she fought with the britishers and at the same time, she worked hard for the upliftment of women in our society. She is a role model for all the womens.

She was also a great poet, and Mahatma Gandhiji gave her a role of “Nightingale of India”.

Here are some of Indian women’s who played various different role in our Society and made all of us proud.

It’s surprising and sometimes shocking to see, how women’s multitask and take care of any tasks with so ease. Giving birth itself is so painful but women’s take pride in it. They take care of the household, kids, husbands, parents, in-laws, society needs, etc. etc. etc. The list goes on and on.and on top of that they are also playing leadership roles in guiding organizations or country to success.

A growth of a nation can be measured by the number of educated and working women in that country. Definitely India has grown a lot, but at the same time 70% or more of the Indian women’s are not educated or not working. On one side we have women leaders taking India to next level, but at the same time there are so many instances we hear in news where women are disrespected and in many cases physically or mentally tortured. This is not only in India, but happening across the globe. We all were given birth by women and at the same time we forget to pay respect to them. We should teach our kids to respect girls and women, and we should start from ourselves and from our home. We should give respect to our sisters, mothers, friends and every other women out there.

On this day, on behalf of team Euphoria, I salute all the women’s out there and wish them a National Women’s day. Thank you for all the work you are doing.
