The list of adjectives goes on and on, but they wont be able to describe the yummy, crunch, delicious, mouth watering Chicken Pakoras.
Pakoras are all time favorite, doesn’t matter whether it is Onion Pakoras, Spinach Pakoras, brinjal Pakoras, Potato Pakoras, etc..etc..etc. But the Queen (king) of all is the Chicken Pakora. Nothing can beat it. It takes less effort to prepare and tastes good every time even if you don’t have experience cooking it.
Chicken Pakoras can be prepared in many different ways, I will share the recipe I like the most.
Ingredients:
- Boneless chicken cubes (1/2 Kg)
- 2 tea spoon Ginger Garlic Paste
- 1/2 – 1 tea spoon salt (as per your taste)
- 1 tea spoon chilli powder
- 1/2 tea spoon turmeric powder
- 1 tea spoon dhaniya powder
- 1 tea spoon garam masala or 1 tea spoon chicken masala or 1 tea spoon chaat masala
- 2 tea spoon slightly crushed coriander seeds
- Greens
- coriander leaves
- curry leaves
- 2-3 Green Chillis (chopped fine)
- 1 lemon juice
- 1 and 1/2 cup Besan (Chic Pea floor)
- 1/2 cup rice floor (optional)
- 1 egg (optional)
- Baking soda (optional)
Preparation:
Step 1) Marinate the Chicken
- Wash the chicken and cut them in fine cubes and let the water get drained
- Add ginger garlic paste, salt, chilli, turmeric, coriander and garam masala powder
- Add crushed coriander seeds
- Chop all the greens and add to chicken
- Squeeze 1 lemon
- Marinate the chicken well and put it into refrigerator for 30 minutes to 2 hours
Step 2) Coating the Chicken
- Add egg
- Add Besan and rice flour to chicken
- Add some water and coat the chicken well. The batter should not be very watery or very thick, should be consistent and coat the chicken well.
Step 3) Fry the Chicken
- Take a kadhai and add vegetable oil to it. Add oil sufficient for deep fry
- Heat the oil to medium heat (don’t put it on high flame)
- Fry the chicken with 3 – 4 minutes on each size. Don’t over fry the chicken of it wont be juicy from inside.
- remove the chicken once you get a nice beautiful brown color.
Step 4) Serving the Pakoras
- you can sprinkle some chaat masala on top
- you can sprinkle nicely chopped onions
- you can serve along with green coriander-mint-chilli chutney
- or you can just eat as it is or eat it as a side dish with your regular meal
