Should I Change the Channel

Should I be the first one to accept defeat

One fine Sunday afternoon, after a big lunch, I sat on my couch watching TV.

I was not sure what to watch and kept changing channels, and landed on MTV.

It was playing the ever hit Bollywood songs and the one I liked the most “Tu hi re, Tu hi re, Tere bina mein kaise Jiyu”. The song was towards the end and I felt bad that I missed it.

But well, the next song followed, “Tip Tip Barsa Paani, Paani me aag lagayi”. Don’t know if it’s the most heard one, but I am sure it is one of the most watched songs. I got a smile on my face. Raveena in a wet yellow saree, ufff!!!!!!!! I can’t take my eyes off her. I got lost in a dream while dancing with her.

And Suddenly, I realized my papa was sitting next to me on the other end of the couch. I got a little nervous, I tried to look sideways without tilting my head. My papa was acting to read the newspaper but he was also watching TV through the paper fold. I was in a big dilemma, should I change the channel. My mind said Yes, but my heart said a big Noooooooooooooooooooo. This dilemma continued for another 45 Seconds, but I did not change the channel as I had a strong heart. Fathers are cute in that way😉.

But then entered the dragon, my mom. She knew papa and I both were watching TV but acting or doing something else. But as you know, moms are the smartest of all living species on earth. She took the remote from my hand and changed it to ETNow. I hate watching news, but at that moment to avoid shouting from mom, I had to sit in the same position for another 15 minutes.

  1. Yes, sometimes it is not easy to watch some songs with parents at home. Nowadays most of Hindi movies will definitely have an item song.
