Teaching is a very professional and honorable job. I like teaching to kids and my juniors. It’s not that I do it for some financial earning, but it gives me satisfaction when I see other kids grow, and I am able to contribute towards their success.
Teaching helps in many ways,
a) The more you teach, your thinking and analytical skill increases. If your students ask you more questions, you find different ways to explain them.
b) It helps you be more patience. Some students may ask the same questions multiple time, you might have already explained them 5 times.
c) It improves your communication skills. Communication is art where you can pass on your message in short sweet words.
d) It helps brush your basic skills and prepare you for competitive exams.
e) Kids are more technology savvy than elders, you may learn few tips here and there from them.
f) We all need money to give our friends a birthday treats, or buy a new pair of shoes.
You don’t have to spend hours teaching kids, Teens can easily take out 5-10 hours a week teaching 2-3 students. As we are adapting more online options, I think teaching from the comfort of home makes it easier. I would recommend all teens out there to think over this topic, spend some hours teaching your neighbors or your siblings. No harm in requesting parents for the service you provide. It will not only give you those extra bucks, but will also help boost your confidence and improve communication skills, which is required for your higher education or facing real world.
