Happy Folkare Day. On 22 August 1846.William John Thomas, a British writer had coined a word Folk Lore, published in a magazine The Adhiniyam.It was specified that this word shall be used universally.
Our Dhakshinyata Folklore Samastha(FOSSIL
S) started Folklore Day from 1998 onwars. It collects details not only on rivers, buildings, sculptures, vasthu-samskruthi, but also of songs, poetry and stories. Folklores passed on lots of wisdom from generations across the world.
